Property Maintenance

The Village of Mt. Orab adopted Ordinance 1235 on March 23rd, 2021 establishing minimum regulations governing the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings and structures: by providing  the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use: and the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and the demolition of such structures: know as the Property Maintenance Code of 2021.

Failure to comply with the Village of Mt. Orab Zoning Code and/or Property Maintenance Code can result in the issuance of a Non-Compliance Letter issued by the Zoning Administrator.

Failure to bring the property into compliance by the time specified in the letter could result in a citation to Mayor’s Court.

Citations may be issued for violations such as:

  • inoperable motor vehicles
  • non-licensed motor vehicle
  • overgrown yards or noxious weeds
  • failure to maintain property or structures
  • building a structure without a permit
  • presence of trash, debris, or other material in yard areas

Zoning and Housing Code Violations that are cited to Mayor’s Court, generally result in fines and court costs.
