Mt. Orab Christmas in the Village Parade

Widely considered one of the area’s most popular holiday traditions, the Mt. Orab Christmas in the Village Parade is held annually on the first Saturday evening after Thanksgiving. The parade features over 50 colorful floats and entries from local businesses, civic groups, churches and schools. Santa and Mrs. Claus also make an appearance much to the delight of local youngsters.

The parade is the Saturday after Thanksgiving at 6:00 pm. Lineup begins at 4 p.m. at Western Brown High School.

New expanded route in 2017! The new parade route kicks off on Bronco Boulevard and proceeds east in front of the Western Brown High School and the former Ford dealership on Main Street. The parade then travels to the center of Mt. Orab, where the route makes a turn and continues on South High Street past the Mt. Orab Park and Administration Offices. The parade route ends at Smith Avenue.

West Main Street will be closed from Western Brown Schools to the Main and High Intersection. South High Street will be closed from the Main and High Intersection to the Smith Avenue Intersection. Road closures begin at 5:30 p.m. and last for the duration of the parade.

Spectators can line the streets of Mt. Orab to view the parade. Two announcers are strategically located along the route to introduce the parade participants as they pass. The first announcer is located at the intersection of Main and High Streets, and the second is located at the Mt. Orab Park.

Area businesses or organizations who wish to participate in the Christmas Parade may download an application here. All floats and entries are required to identify their organization and depict a Christmas theme; however, as there is only one Santa Claus, we ask that participants do not feature Santa on their floats. Santa has his own float which appears at the end of the parade.

In addition, the Mt. Orab Christmas Committee builds a number of floats each year that can be sponsored by local businesses. These floats are decorated by the Committee with Christmas décor and lights, and feature holiday characters. A sign with the sponsoring business’ name is also prominently displayed on the float.
